Blower W116 does not work

Question: The blower of my 1974 Mercedes 280 S W116 does not work anymore. I checked the fuse (zekering, sicherung) and it is OK. Any hints what it could be before I open up the whole dashboard?

In de buurt van je ventilator zit ergens een weerstand deze regeld de stroom naar je ventilator deze wil wel eens stuk gaan


Near your fan somewhere a resistance that regulated the power to your fan this will sometimes break down

Thanks for your responses. I will start with the resistance because the blower stopped working from one moment to another. Quite instantly and not gradually what one would expect in case of worn out coal brushes. Now I just need to find /make time to do it without ruining my mariage more than I already have done

Of course start there what is most easy to do, but as these cars age the brushes are prone to be worn any day as well.
